Flight School with The Note Birds has been lovingly designed to give your child (Young Pianist - or YP for short) a solid foundation for reading music at the start of their piano journey or even before they have even started. After Summer School, the music lessons you book with a face-to-face teacher means the focus will be entirely on technique and sound rather than demystifying the musical stave. Progress will be meaningful and satisfying because the focus will be exactly where it needs to be.

I know that on its own, the Action Book teaches the reading of the notes to any independent learner that can use a touch screen device. However, despite the piano key diagram, students need active encouragement to orient the notes to the correct piano keys. From my own experience, the BEST learning using the Action Book is when I teach modules from the Action Book myself and guide students to locate the correct zone on the piano using character colours. What will make the learning complete will be with a parent (Mummy Daddy - or Musical Director - or MD for short) learning alongside with a willingness to do weird things like pretend to be a ring holder or prepare the little white board that's in the learning pack you will be sent a few weeks before we begin.

This is why, for the first time, I'm really excited about opening up my teaching room to Early Bird Music Academy's first online lessons since the pandemic. You and your YP will have the choice to be on or off camera. I will explain the chat processes as we go. All you will need is an ipad, a solid internet connection, a keyboard and resources from the Learning Pack.
So now.
Imagine your child in the future: sitting at the piano. Out of pure curiosity, your YP sight reads an unknown piece of music with ease and discovers that this is a wonderful piece of music. After this, your YP enjoys playing it every day, finds out about the composer and studies the music with the teacher for a school performance.
This is the long-term goal. For now, let's start with The Note Birds.
